New Delhi: Congress veteran and former Union Finance Minister P.K. Chidambaram has given his response to the Jamia firing case. Chidambaram on Friday deciphered the decision to extend the tenure of Delhi Police Commissioner Amulya Patnaik on the day of the incident when a youth of Jamia was injured by the firing of youth amidst the presence of several police personnel.
Chidambaram has asked who has been suspended in the case of firing near the Jamia complex on Thursday. He wrote in a tweet, "Extending the tenure of the Delhi Police Commissioner on the same day the firing was carried out in the presence of sufficient police force is beyond comprehension and condemnable".
He said, "One got service extension, but who was suspended for the grievous firing that took place yesterday". The extension of tenure for one month was approved. This approval has been given by the Election Commission after a letter written by the Union Home Ministry regarding this. Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi have also given an opinion on this matter.
