New Delhi: After a historic performance at the World Championship, India's Star Woman badminton player P.V. Sindhu continues to perform poorly. Sindhu crashed out of the competition after losing to 17-year-old South Korea's Ann to Young in the second round of the Denmark Open on Thursday. Not only Sindhu, but also in the men's singles category, India has been disappointed. Bronze medal winner of world championship B. Sai Praneeth and Sameer Verma were also eliminated in the pre-quarterfinal matches.

Sindhu, who won the gold medal at the World Championship, was defeated by Young 21–14, 21–17 in straight games. With this defeat, Sindhu dropped out of the tournament. The match between the two players lasted for a total of 40 minutes. It was the first match between World No-6 Sindhu and World No-19 N. Se-Young to win the World Championship title held in Switzerland in August. In the quarter-finals, the South Korean player will take on Spain veteran Carolina Marin.

This is Sindhu's third consecutive tournament after the World Championship, where she was eliminated in the preliminary round. Sindhu could not go much further in China Open and Korea Open. Praneeth also failed to maintain his success. He appeared weak in front of Japan's Kanto Momota. Momota defeated the Indian player 21-6 21-14. Sameer also faced Chinese legend Chen Long, who beat the Indian player 21-12 21-10 in 38 minutes.
