Sebi cautions PACL investors against fake emails

A new news has come to the investors of PACL. Yes, the market regulator SEBI has asked investors to be cautious that it has neither authorized any person for refund nor has any authority letter been issued for refund. The committee headed by Justice RM Lodha is receiving complaints from investors that they are receiving emails from sebi.pacl@sebirefunds.org asking them to apply for the refund claim Can be filed.

In an email sent by sebi.pacl@sebirefunds.org, the Authority letter issued by SEBI to investors showing Ravi Shankar, IAS. According to the email, he has been given the responsibility to settle the issues related to the refund. Further, in this context, SEBI has clarified that 'it is informed that the committee / SEBI has neither authorized any person for issue related to refunds nor issued any authority letter to anyone'. SEBI has also clarified that this email has nothing to do with SEBI or committee.

The regulator has said, "Investors are advised to be cautious. If such an email comes, do not act on it. Investors are also requested not to fall prey nor trust any false promise. With this, SEBI has said that information about refunds related to investors of PACL is made available from time to time on SEBI website www.sebi.gov.in. PACL raised money from people in the name of agriculture and real estate business. SEBI found that over an 18-year period, PACL had raised more than Rs 60,000 crore from the people under Illegal Collective Investment Schemes (CIS).
