Dhadak tells the story of two teenagers battling the rigid caste system for their love for each other. In the new poster, both Ishaan and Janhvi look serenely in love with each other and the simplicity of it is bewitching. The movie which was earlier scheduled to release on July 6, 2018, has now been postponed for a July 20, 2018, release.

Director Shashank Khaitan to ask about the movie ‘Dhadak’ and the idea behind the posters. To this, he replied, "I think the idea behind the posters was to give the honest representation of the film we want to make and to do justice to it. It was also about giving sense to the character we are going to portray and that's the basic intent we plan to do with the film. It's a special film and right from the title, we wanted to be honest."

Talking about the title, he added, "Dhadak is a title, a word and quite respectable. We are really excited about the film. Honestly, I felt it right from the beginning. I was always very excited to go to two new fresh faces and see how it works. Debutante Janhvi and Ishaan get a sense of innocence to the table and that's what we will capitalize on."
