After the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) in the United Kingdom cleared filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus, ‘Padmavati’ with no cuts, the Rajput Samaj launched a objection against the release of the film there in British. The Samaj has also reportedly written to the British Board to fault its certification for the film to prevent its release in Britain too. The President of the Rajput Samaj of UK, Mahendrasinh Jadeja, was reportedly of the view that the film ‘Padmavati’ misconduct their history, culture, and traditions and because it has been patronize by so many states in India, the filmmakers are trying to use a smart approach of getting the film released in the UK. Although the makers of the film have already reportedly stated that the film will release in the UK in line with the Indian release, Jadeja said that they cannot trust the makers anymore as they have broken many reassurances in the past. The British Board is yet to comment on the Rajput Samaj’s boycott appeal.

This is probably one of the ugliest turns that any protest against a film has ever taken. In a recent development on the ongoing ‘Padmavati’ row, a dead body was reportedly found at the gate of Nahargarh Fort in Jaipur with a terrifying note. Meanwhile, condemning the act, President of Karni Sena has reportedly said that although the protest against the film ‘Padmavati’ is justified, such acts are not justified. He also apparently added that they will never resort to such means of protest against the film and that it is not how their group functions.
