Nashik: A major accident has occurred in Nashik, Maharashtra. Ten persons died when a bus carrying Sai Baba devotees collided with a truck. Several people have been injured in this accident. Nashik police confirmed the incident. The accident took place near Pathare on the Nashik-Ahmednagar highway on Friday morning. The CM's office has announced a compensation of Rs 5 lakh for the families of the deceased.

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has expressed grief over the accident. He has directed to give Five lakh rupees to the families of those who died in the accident and provide necessary treatment to the injured persons at government expense. As soon as the news of the accident was received, the CM spoke to Nashik divisional commissioner and district collector on phone and took detailed information. Ten people have died in the accident so far. The condition of four passengers remains critical. There were a total of 45 passengers on the bus.

A private bus from Badlapur and adjoining areas was ferrying devotees to Shirdi to pay obeisance to Saibaba. A total of 12 passengers were injured in the accident. The condition of four of them is said to be critical. The deceased include six women, two children, and two men. Nashik Superintendent of Police Shahaji Umap said, "The bus was going from Badlapur-Ambernath to Shirdi. Then there was a head-on collision between the bus and the truck. Ten people, including six women, two men, and two children, died in the incident.''
