Mumbai: The body of a woman has been found in her house in Mumbai, Maharashtra.  The husband claims that she committed suicide by hanging herself, but the girl's family has made sensational allegations against the husband. The incident took place in Dharavi, Mumbai. The woman lived in a chawl with her husband. Her body was found hanging from a ceiling rod.

The woman's name was Yashoda Khatik (24). She was a resident of Katni in Madhya Pradesh. Yashoda's family told the police that she had tied the knot with Rehan in Mumbai in 2018. Khatik's family alleged that Rehna forced her to convert to Islam. Rehan forcibly wanted to change her name to Rubina. The family alleged that Yashoda refused to convert to Islam. That's why Rehan killed her.

They also alleged that Rehan used to assault her under the influence of alcohol. Following a complaint by Yashoda's family, the police are investigating the allegations. Rehan has been booked for murdering his wife and attempting to make her look suicidal. In this case, the police are preparing to take the statement of the doctor who conducted the post-mortem after the arrest of the husband. Police are trying to check if Yashoda was murdered earlier. Recently, representatives of Sakal Hindu Samaj in Mumbai met the CM and Deputy CM to make a law against love jihad.  The organization had said that there has been a positive response from them and the Chief Minister has assured to make a law.
