On the 73rd anniversary of the United Nations, Pakistan's Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi raised the Jammu-Kashmir issue once again (UN).
On Twitter, Shah wrote: "We reaffirm our full support for Kashmiris in their just demand for the realisation of their inalienable right to self-determination on the 73rd anniversary of the United Nations' commitment to resolve the Jammu & Kashmir dispute through a free and impartial plebiscite under UN auspices. Pakistan appeals to the international community to pay attention to the deteriorating situation in #IIOJK and hold India responsible for egregious human rights abuses and crimes against humanity committed there."Pakistan has already called for foreign action in Jammu-Kashmir.
Qureshi wrote a letter to the UN Secretary-General and the President of the UN Security Council in December 2021, urging them to "call upon India to reverse its actions, including those initiated on and after August 5, 2019, when the Modi government abrogated Article 370 of the Constitution to revoke Jammu and Kashmir's special status."
In response, India has said unequivocally to the world community that the repeal of Article 370 is a matter for India alone, and has asked Pakistan to accept reality and cease all anti-India propaganda.
