Pak army violates ceasefire third day in a row; one soldier injured

The Pakistani Army yet again opened unprovoked fire at an Indian Army post along the line of control in Tangdhar, according to officials of the Indian Army. The firing left a BSF soldier seriously injured after being hit by a Pakistani sniper shot.

The soldier was deployed at a forward defended location along the line of control when a bullet hit him in the stomach leaving him seriously injured.  

“The condition of the jawan is serious and he was being evacuated on foot till last reports came in,” said a senior army officer.

The Defence Security Corps guards involved in cross-firing with the militants following which the militants ran away. No loss of life or property was reported.

This has been the third instance of ceasefire violation by Pakistani Army in a row. The other two violations were done by Pakistan on Sunday and Monday in an attempt to facilitate infiltration of terrorists into India which was foiled by the Indian Army.

Pakistani Army has been opening unprovoked fire since Sunday, when they, in an attempt to facilitate intruders’ entry into the Indian territory in the Poonch sector along the line of control.

On Monday, the Pakistani army violated ceasefire in Uri sector along the Line of control in Jammu and Kashmir.
