On Friday, Pakistan's National Assembly passed a resolution calling for the hanging of criminals who have been convicted for sexual assault and murder of children. The Pakistani Parliament passed this proposal with an overwhelming majority. The motion was tabled by Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Muhammad Khan which was passed with a majority by all MPs except the Pakistan People's Party.

According to media reports, Pakistan People's Party leader and former Prime Minister Raza Pervez Ashraf have not described this exercise as appropriate. He said that just by giving a severe punishment, such crimes will not be reduced. We cannot punish public execution by violating the laws of the United Nations. Pakistan newspaper Dawn has quoted that Raza Pervez Ashraf did not raise his voice alone against giving such punishment. Science and Technology Minister Fawad Chaudhary also condemned it.

On this matter, Fawad Chaudhary tweeted that this step reminds him of the practices of cruel civilization. Society works in a balanced way. Vandalism is not the answer to crimes. it is another expression of extremism. Meanwhile, Human Rights Minister Shirin Mazari clarified that the proposal was not government sponsored, it was a personal act. Actually, cruelty towards children is not stopping in Pakistan.
