Islamabad: There is a fight for flour in poor Pakistan even during the holy month of Ramzan. People are forced to stand in kilometre-long lines for flour. The fight for flour has come down to the wire. Many people have also lost their lives in the stampede for flour in Pakistan. In the midst of these reports, this information has come to light: wheat is being secretly transported from Pakistan to Afghanistan, while the people of Pakistan themselves are dying of hunger. In this regard, the local leaders and small producers of Sindh Abdgar Board (SAB) have appealed to the Sindh government to stop those who secretly send wheat to Afghanistan. He said that if this smuggling is not stopped, then in the coming times there would be ravages. That's why it should be curbed at the right time.

According to the report, he demanded immediate action against the officials of the Food and District Administration who are allegedly involved in the illegal movement of wheat from Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Shaheed Benazirabad, Sakkur, and Larkana regions to Afghanistan. These people say that big businessmen are giving bribes ranging from Rs 75 thousand to Rs 1 lakh per vehicle to the officials. People allege that since March 1, 200 heavy vehicles loaded with wheat are going to Afghanistan daily from Johi, Khairpur Nathan Shah, Mehar, and Dadu talukas of Dadu district.

The food department, district administration, and local police officers help them cross the border. The wheat growers here allege that the local food officers and officials of the Dadu administration take bribes on the pretext of checking wheat-laden vehicles. In this case, Sindh Food Department Director Syed Imdad Shah said that the licences of those involved in wheat smuggling would be suspended for 90 days in the 2023 procurement season.
