Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Gulzar Ahmed inaugurated the rebuilt Shri Param Hans Ji Maharaj temple in Karak, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) on Diwali and congratulated the community on the occasion, according to reports.
Justice Gulzar, speaking at the inaugural ceremony on Monday, said that the Supreme Court has always taken steps to protect minorities' rights and would continue to do so in the future, according to the report.
According to the report, he stated that the Hindu community has the same rights as people of other religions under the Constitution. Everyone loves their holy places, according to the CJP, and no one has the authority to harm anyone's religious place. He went on to say that the Supreme Court guarantees minorities the protection of their religious freedom, calling it a constitutional duty to do so. Ramesh Kumar, Patron-in-Chief of the Pakistan Hindu Council and a PTI leader, spoke on the occasion and expressed gratitude to the Chief Justice for taking timely notice of the Karak incident. The Evacuee Property Trust Board is in charge of temple maintenance, he said.
