ISLAMABAD: According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Pakistan has successfully evacuated all of its citizens who were stuck in the conflict-torn Sudan.

The Ministry announced in a statement that more than 1,000 Pakistanis had successfully left the African nation, and that as a result, the evacuation efforts in Sudan had come to an end.

According to the Xinhua news agency, the Ministry also expressed gratitude to Saudi Arabia and China for helping to repatriate Pakistani people who were stranded in the crisis area.

Over 1,000 Pakistanis have been successfully and safely evacuated from Sudan thanks to the Ministry's tireless efforts, which were "supported by Saudi Arabia, China, and our teams in Jeddah and Islamabad."

Shahbaz Sharif, the prime minister, applauded the evacuation efforts.

Given the circumstances, he wrote in a tweet, "It was undoubtedly a Herculean task that was made possible by timely and coordinated response."

Numerous Pakistanis are also involved in small-scale businesses in the nation.

Since April 15, when tensions between Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, the head of the regular army, and Mohamed Hamdan Daglo, the commander of the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces, erupted into armed clashes, violence has engulfed Sudan.

Abdou Dieng, the top UN representative in Sudan, warned that the situation was escalating into "a full-blown catastrophe" in a briefing on Monday.
