During the hearing on Wednesday, the Lahore High Court (LHC) directed the federal government to submit a written reply to the request to have PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz's name removed from the fly list. The news has been prominently carried in the Dawn website. The two-member bench was hearing a petition filed by Maryam on 21 December, asking her to return her passport to the LHC and her name from the government to the Exit Control List (ECL). Have asked to order the removal. During the hearing, Mariam's lawyer told the court that her client had received a letter from the government on Tuesday night refusing to take her name from ECL.

Counsel for the federal government informed the court that the cabinet had decided not to remove Maryam's name from the ECL.
