According to the Pakistani newspaper The Dawn, more than 50 clerics of the country linked to Wafqul Madaris al Arabia have also warned the government not to pursue sanctions by showing fear of coronavirus. All these clerics hail from Rawalpindi and Islamabad.

According to media reports, all of them had a meeting at Jamia Darul Uloom Zakariya in Islamabad in which consensus was reached to remove the ban on mosques due to Corona and to warn the government about it. In this meeting, apart from senior clerics associated with this organization, members of the banned organization Ahle Sunnat Vall Jamaat also attended. After the meeting, it was said that no such ban should be imposed in the holy month of Ramadan. According to the newspaper, a video of this meeting has also been released. After the meeting, Pir Azizur Rahman Hazarvi, president of Jamia Darul Uloom Zakaria, said that we want to avoid any confrontation situation.

Expressing displeasure over the arrest of clerics who have violated the rules in the country amid the outbreak of infection and virus, there has been a demand to release them and end the cases registered against them. Rahman has said that all government officials and the PM himself are also bound by religious rules. People associated with all religious institutions have supported the government in this war, but the government is not acting like cooperating with them. Maulana Abdul Aziz of Lal Masjid, while giving a direct challenge to the Islamabad administration, has even said that he should stop and show them. It is also a matter of regret that in front of his threat, the administration of Islamabad is proving dwarf. It also said that during the namaz in mosques, all the necessary precaution, including the investigation, social distancing of all persons, will also be taken.
