Islamabad: Pakistan is currently groaning due to the horrific floods. A third of the neighbouring Islamic country is completely submerged in water. The death toll from flood-related incidents in Pakistan has risen to 1343 with 18 more deaths on Wednesday (September 7). Meanwhile, PM Shahbaz Sharif looked emotional after visiting the flood-affected areas of the country. He said that Pakistan is looking like a sea.

At the same time, Pakistani officials estimate that 33 million people out of a population of 220 million have been affected in this disaster caused by climate change. Due to the floods, millions of people have been rendered homeless and Pakistan's economy has suffered a setback of at least $10 billion. Pakistani PM Shahbaz Sharif speaks to the media after his visit to the flood-hit southern province of Sindh.

During this, he said, 'You will not believe the scale of destruction there. As far as you can see, it's water everywhere. It looks just like the ocean.' He said the government, which has increased cash assistance for flood victims to 70 billion Pakistani rupees ($313.90 million), will also buy 2,00,000 tents for displaced families.
