Islamabad: Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma's statement on Congress' Bharat Jodo Yatra is in the news these days. CM Sarma had said that Rahul Gandhi should do this journey outside India in Pakistan-Bangladesh and work for Akhand Bharat. On this, there has now been a reaction from Pakistan. Pakistan on Wednesday (September 7)  rejected CM Sarma's statement that he propagated the idea of 'Akhand Bharat'.

In fact, an official statement from Pakistan's Foreign Office referred to Sarma's remarks that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, if he had any regrets about the partition of the country made by his ancestors, should try to integrate Pakistan and Bangladesh with India to build an 'Akhand Bharat'.

In fact, Assam CM Sarma had given this statement regarding the Congress's India Jodo Yatra being led by Rahul Gandhi. A furious Pakistan Foreign Ministry statement said that this futile claim is an expression of the ruling BJP's 'Hindutva' majoritarian agenda and its expansionist mindset, which seeks to erase the identity and culture of its country's religious minorities as well as neighbouring countries.
