ISLAMABAD: Donkeys all over the world may have lived their lives easefully and comfortably. They would not be afraid of any crime. They would have no regard for human concerns and rules and regulations. But, in 1947, after separating from India, the life of animals in Pakistan became an Islamic country. Even, like humans, they have to make rounds of courts. In fact, a strange case has come to light from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan, where 6 donkeys have been arrested for smuggling wood. Not only this, along with smuggling wood on these poor donkeys, there is also an allegation of facilitating and protecting wood mafia operatives.

According to a report, in the case of smuggling of wood in the Chitral district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the police arrested 6 donkeys and brought them to the police station. However, he escaped from the grip of the police and fled. The police could not catch the accused but definitely arrested his helpful donkeys present there. It is being told that this incident happened on Tuesday (October 18) night. At the behest of the Forest Officer and the District Administration, Assistant Commissioner, Darosh had reached Gol to nab the smugglers. But, the suspected accused, who is being told as a woodcutter by profession, escaped leaving three donkeys.

Assistant Commissioner Darosh Tausifulla has informed that on Tuesday night we got information that efforts are being made to take wooden sleepers on donkeys to other villages. As soon as we reached, the accused fled into the forest. However, his unlucky donkeys were immediately arrested and taken to the police station. The henchmen of the wood mafia use donkeys to carry wood in storm drains. Tausifulla said that the donkeys would be produced in the court by the forest department. He said that the Assistant Commissioner has directed the Forest Department to produce 6 donkeys before the judge in the court.

According to another report, the interesting thing is that the detained donkeys are quite intelligent. These donkeys used to smuggle wood on their own and transport them from one village to another. Sometimes they did not need help at all. Let us tell you that the donkey is an important source of income in Pakistan. They also have a big contribution to the GDP of the country. A large section of the country is completely dependent on animal husbandry. More than 80 lakh rural families do animal husbandry here.
