Islamabad: In Pakistan, which became an Islamic country after separating from India in 1947, today the minority Hindus, Sikhs and Christians, even Muslims who believe in the same God are not safe. Fundamentalists in Pakistan continue to target Muslims from the Ahmadiyya community. In the latest incident, the minaret of a mosque in Punjab province has been demolished by the police. The Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) on Friday (July 14) threatened the Pakistan government to demolish the minarets of the mosque, saying that if the government did not break the minarets, it would be demolished by the TLP itself.

According to reports, the incident took place in Jehlum district in Pakistan's Punjab province. There are places of worship of the Ahmadiyya community in the Kala Gujran area here. TLP leader Asim Ashfaq Rizvi has launched a campaign against these places of worship. Surprisingly, Ahmadiyya Muslims also believe in the same God as other Muslims and even fundamentalists. However, the persecution of Ahmadis shows that it is the nature of fundamentalists to fight and torture others, whether they belong to another religion or their own religion. In the same sequence, the TLP also appealed to the Pakistan government to demolish the minarets of the mosques of Ahmadis and threatened to demolish the ibadgahs themselves if action was not taken. These threats were made from public forums to a crowd of thousands, where others were also instigated to demolish the worship houses of the Ahmadi people. Videos of these threats have also become quite viral on  social media.  

After these threats, the officials of The Punjab province of the Government of Pakistan came into action. He called a meeting of Ahmadi people and called their construction  illegal. Finally, despite all the protests, on the night of July 14, the police demolished the minarets of the mosques of the Ahmadi community. It is alleged that during this action taken in the dark of midnight, the police not only collected the phones of Ahmadi people, but also switched off the CCTV cameras installed nearby. During this time, Ahmadi people were held hostage, who were released only after the minarets were demolished.

At the same time, the International Human Rights Committee (IHRC) has described this action of Pakistan Police as an attack on Ahmadis, describing the Ahmadiyya community as a threat. The committee has also described the attitude of the Pakistan government in such cases as disappointing and accused the government of not taking action against fundamentalists. The IHRC believes that due to their religious beliefs, the Ahmadiyya community in Pakistan is the target of fundamentalists. Action has also been demanded against the policemen involved in this incident.
