Islamabad: The government of Imran has formed an authority for the timely completion of the China-Pakistan Corridor, bypassing American concerns for a long time. Pakistan Army Lieutenant-General (retd) Asim Salim Bajwa has been appointed as the first chairman of this authority. Where the purpose of this authority is to complete the corridor in time. Please tell that before the visit of Prime Minister Imran Khan to Beijing, the authority was established through an ordinance in October. However, the United States and India have been against the plan since the beginning and have lodged their objection. Despite this, Pakistan has formed an authority on this.

The term of the new president will be for four years: According to information received from sources, Bajwa was appointed as the chairman of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor Authority (CPECA) on Tuesday. This authority comes under the Ministry of Planning and Development of Pakistan. The term of the new president will be for four years. Prior to retirement, Bajwa served as the Commander of the Southern Command of the Army. He was also the Director-General of Inter-Services Public Relations, Media wing of Pakistan Army from 2012 to 2016.

The corridor cost $ 46 billion: According to information received from sources, the economic corridor is a project of about 2,442 km from Pakistan's Gwadar to Kashgar in Xinjiang province of China. It is estimated to cost $ 46 billion. For this, China is investing such a huge amount of money in Pakistan that it is more than double of all foreign direct investment (FDI) in Pakistan since 2008. This investment of China is more than the total financial assistance from Pakistan to America since the year 2002.

What will China gain from the project:

1- This relationship is of strategic importance to the Chinese. The corridor will provide China with the shortest route to the Middle East and Africa, where thousands of Chinese companies are doing business.

2- This project will also provide connectivity to Xinjiang and provide an opportunity to the government and private companies to carry out their economic activities in the backward areas, which will create employment opportunities.

3- Currently, the only commercial route for China to reach the Middle East, Africa and Europe is the Malacca Strait; Apart from being long, it can also be closed during the war.

4- China is also trying for an eastern corridor that will travel through Myanmar, Bangladesh and possibly India to the Bay of Bengal.
