Mumbai: An assistant sub-inspector and two head constables of Casa police station have been suspended in the case of ruthless killing of saints in Palghar, Maharashtra. Earlier, two police inspectors were suspended in the case on Tuesday. 35 policemen have been transferred. The public relations officer of Palghar police has given this information.

Suspended policemen were convicted for not stopping the violence in the initial investigation. It was also said that this type of action can be done on other people as well. Two sadhus and a driver were brutally beaten to death in Gadchinchale village under Palghar in Maharashtra. The whole incident took place in front of the eyes of some policemen present there. The investigation conducted after this has also revealed the negligence of the police.

There was outrage across the country on the incident of killing the three dead at the hands of the mob. CID is currently investigating the entire case. The police had registered an FIR against 110 people taking action in the matter. Of these, 101 have been sent to police custody till 30 April. Nine minors have been sent to a juvenile shelter home.
