Paris: Prosecutors announced on Friday that French authorities had detained two men on suspicion of taking part in a gang rape of a Mexican tourist in the Champ de Mars park, which is located at the base of the Eiffel Tower in the heart of Paris.

According to Paris prosecutors, the men were detained on Thursday as part of an ongoing investigation into the woman's alleged rape.
The 27-year-old woman was attacked by five men, according to the Le Parisien newspaper, which broke the story first. This means that three suspects are still at large. Prosecutors have not affirmed this.

The Champ de Mars is a sizable park that extends from the Eiffel Tower and is very well-liked by both tourists and residents.
