For the tenth consecutive day, the Parliamentary proceedings were disrupted by members of parliament from the opposition parties including Telegu Desam Party (TDP) and Congress among others. The MPs were protesting on multi-crore Punjab National Bank fraud, Andhra Pradesh special category status issue and Cauvery Management Board formation.

Earlier in the day, TDP finally announced its decision to part ways from the NDA government in the centre after days of threatening to do so. On Thursday, YSR Congress had given a notice for moving a no-confidence motion on AP special category status.

TDP MLA Thota Narsimham, on behalf of TDP, wrote a letter to Lok Sabha secretary general Snehlata Srivastava for moving motion of no confidence and asked to take it up in the house on Friday. CPM, Congress, TMC and Biju Janata Dal also declared to support the move of TDP.

However, the matter was not taken up for hearing on Friday and the house was adjourned till Monday. Speaker Sumitra Mahajan said that it is her duty to proceed with the no-confidence motion only if the house is in order.

Tensions between the two parties had been escalating since the few past days AP SCS issue. TDP, which has the incumbent government in Andhra Pradesh, was upset with BJP led central government for not granting special category status to the state.
