Gorakhpur: For the last few days, many types of incidents are coming to fore. In Gorakhpur, the charge of raping Mehmood alias Jumman Baba and Parvez has been proved. City and Sessions Judge Govind Ballabh Sharma sentenced them to rigorous life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 25 thousand each.

It is Parvez who had filed a case against CM Yogi Adityanath in 2007 for the riots. It is worth mentioning that Turkmanpur Mohalla resident of Rajghat police station area accused Mahmood alias Jumman Baba and Parvez were in jail for two years. On behalf of the prosecution, the District Government Advocate Yashpal Singh said that Vadini had lodged a report at the police station Rajghat. She wrote in the news that "She lives separately from her husband. She used to go Dargah where she met Mahmud alias, Jumman Baba.

She said, "On 3 June 2018, he called at Pandeyhata at 10.30 pm on the pretext of praying, and took me to a deserted area. There he and a person present with him raped me. Parvez was speaking to that person. After the whole incident, I called Dial 100 from mobile, then the police came and took me along". Significantly, Parvez and Asad Hayat filed a petition in the High Court on 27 January 2007, in front of the Gorakhpur railway station gate, accusing Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath of giving hate speech and causing massive violence in Gorakhpur and nearby cities.
