Mumbai: After the announcement of the resignation of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief and Maharashtra political stalwart Sharad Pawar, the party's core committee meeting is being held in Mumbai. Many veteran leaders including Supriya Sule, Ajit Pawar are present in it. During this, Sharad Pawar's resignation offer has been rejected, which was being speculated since his resignation. It is being told that the core committee of NCP has also passed a resolution urging Sharad Pawar to continue leading the party. The resolution was moved by party leader Praful Patel.

NCP Vice President Praful Patel informed about the decisions taken in the meeting through a press conference. He said that Sharad Pawar suddenly announced his resignation on May 2. Everyone was stunned by his decision. He appointed a committee of party leaders for further course of action and to elect a new party chief. Today we had a committee meeting. In this, we have urged Pawar Saheb to complete his term.

Praful Patel further said that I and many other leaders met Pawar Sahab and we constantly urged him to reconsider his decision, because at this time the country and the party need him. Not only NCP leaders, but other party leaders and eminent personalities have also urged him to continue as the party chief.
