Noida-based fintech company Paytm, owned by One97 Communications (OCL), has unveiled a new health and income protection plan called 'Paytm Health Saathi' for its merchant partners. This plan, announced in a stock filing on June 3, is now available on the 'Paytm for Business' app.

The aim of 'Paytm Health Saathi' is to safeguard the health and ensure the business continuity of Paytm's merchants. The company stated, "With this service, Paytm continues to empower its merchant partners, bolstering their resilience while making affordable coverage accessible."

The plan is available on a monthly subscription starting at just Rs 35. It offers a variety of services, including unlimited doctor teleconsultations and in-person doctor visits (OPD) within its partner network. Additionally, it provides income protection cover for business interruptions caused by accidents, natural disasters such as floods and fires, or strikes. Paytm has partnered with MediBuddy to offer further benefits like discounts at leading pharmacies and on diagnostic tests.

A Paytm spokesperson explained, "This initiative is part of our mission to provide comprehensive and affordable coverage to support our merchant partners' ongoing operations. By offering tailored solutions that meet their needs, we aim to strengthen the robust support system we provide to our community of business owners."

Since its pilot launch in May, over 3,000 merchant partners have already benefited from the 'Paytm Health Saathi' program. Encouraged by this early success, Paytm expanded the program to all its merchants earlier this month.

Paytm is a leading company in mobile payments and financial services distribution in India.
