The 32-year-old marriage of Raghubir Yadav has now come to an end. Raghubir's wife Poornima Kharga has accused her husband of adultery and non-compliance with his duty and sought a divorce while knocking on the Bandra court. Poornima has demanded Rs 1 lakh from Raghubir for the hearing of the case and Rs 10 crore as alumni money. Raghubir and Poornima have been married for 32 years, in which they both have a 30-year-old son, who lives with his mother.

When they got married in 1988, Poornima was an international Kathak dancer by profession, and Raghubir was a struggling actor. According to Poornima, she gave up her career for Raghubir and focused on Raghubir's career. Slowly, Raghubir climbed the ladder of success and the other forgot his wife and child. In 1995, Raghubir left his wife Poornima and his five-year-old child, after which he never looked back. Poornima has said in her petition that in the early 80s she was studying Kathak under the guidance of the famous Pandit Birju Maharaj. She was also doing Kathak shows all over the world. She met Raghubir at the National School of Drama (NSD). After six months of reconciliation, they married the in Jabalpur in 1988. Since the wedding took place suddenly, there is no proof of the invitation card, but they have some photo proof of the wedding.

The petition said that Poornima was confident that Raghubir would always be loyal to her and would fully perform the marital duties. He was expected to respect the sanctity of the marriage bond. Poornima suspected Raghubir of having an affair with one of her co-stars in 1995 but tried to save the marriage from breaking up. But the very next year Raghubir himself filed for divorce, which was later withdrawn.
