Chandigarh: The political turmoil in Punjab over the power crisis has increased considerably. The Congress government in Punjab was attacked by the opposition and Navjot Singh Sidhu's outstanding bill was also revealed. Sidhu has now tweeted finding a way out of the power crisis. They have given a measure to the Government of Punjab. Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu on Sunday advocated for providing free electricity up to 300 units and 24-hour power to the people in the state.

Sidhu also said that domestic and industrial consumers should be given electricity at affordable rates. In another tweet, he has written, "The Punjab government already gives a subsidy of Rs.9,000 crores, but we should provide electricity to domestic and industrial consumers at the rate of Rs.3-5 per unit instead of Rs.10-12 per unit surcharge.''

At the same time, 24 hours supply, no power cut and up to 300 units of free electricity should be provided. It is certainly achievable. Sidhu's tweet comes days after Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal promised 300 units of free electricity and 24-hour power supply to each household when he came to power next year. Sidhu had earlier also advocated a law to suspend power purchase agreements (PPAs) signed during the tenure of the previous Shi'ite-BJP government.
