Kolkata: West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankar on Sunday said that the people of the state are paying the price of a war between the Center and the Trinamool Congress (TMC) government, which can be avoided. He told the press that the central and state governments are the two wheels of development and should be worked with 'cooperative federalism and joint action' to help the people.

Dhankar further said, "The epidemic has exposed the health structure of the state government." It would have been better if the government adopted the Ayushman Bharat scheme. Unfortunately, the people of the state are paying the price for the lack of foresight and avoidable conflicts. "He said that under the Prime Minister-Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme, the central government directly paid Rs. 12,000 to the account of every farmer in the country, but the state People were deprived of this benefit. Since becoming the Governor of West Bengal, Dhankar's tussle with the state government continues.

The governor also strongly condemned the 'rising' crime against women in the state. Please tell that the governor is on a month-long Darjeeling tour from Sunday. He said that the purpose of his visit is to know the 'ground realities'. The Governor's visit to Darjeeling is taking place at a time when Gorkha Janmukti Morcha supremo Bimal Gurung has announced that his party will withdraw its support from the NDA.
