New Delhi: Many people are addicted to drinking alcohol. People all over the country drink alcohol. According to a report, about 160 million people in the country consume alcohol. Of these, 95 per cent are men, aged between 18 and 49. The country consumes billions of litres of alcohol every year. According to the report released by survey company Crisil, in the year 2020, five states consumed about 45 per cent of the total liquor sold in the country. Chhattisgarh's name comes at the top of the states with the highest alcohol consumption. In Chhattisgarh, a state with a population of about 3 crores, about 35.6 per cent of the people consume alcohol. Tripura is second on the list. In Tripura, 34.7 per cent of the people consume alcohol. Of these, 13.7% drink alcohol regularly.

In Andhra Pradesh, which ranks third, about 34.5 per cent of the people consume alcohol on a regular basis. Fourth on the list is Punjab. In Punjab, which has a population of around 3 crores, 28.5 per cent of the people consume alcohol. The number of regular drinkers is 6 per cent. Arunachal Pradesh comes at number 5 in this list. 28% of the population here drinks alcohol.
