New Delhi: Amid the Russian-Ukraine war and assembly elections in five states, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today addressed his monthly programme 'Mann Ki Baat'. Due to his address, he first talked about bringing back the stolen statues from India to the country. Prime Minister Modi said that in the last seven years, India has successfully brought back more than 200 precious statues. Prime Minister Modi said that a few years ago, the idol of Lord Anjaneyar, Hanuman ji was stolen from Vellore in Tamil Nadu. This statue of Hanuman ji was also 600-700 years old.

That's what we received earlier this month in Australia. In addition, earlier this month, India has been able to bring one of its valuable heritage from Italy. This heritage is a more than a thousand-year-old statue of Avalokiteshwara Padmapani. The statue was stolen a few years ago from the Kundalpur temple, the Devi sthal in Gaya, in Bihar. Prime Minister Modi said that in our history, in every corner of the country, more than one statue was always built, it had faith, strength, skill and was full of diversities and the impact of the time is also visible in the history of every one of our idols.

Prime Minister Modi said that in the past, many statues were stolen and moved out of India. Sometimes in this country, sometimes in that country, these statues were sold. They had nothing to do with his history, it had nothing to do with faith. Bringing back these statues is our duty towards Mother India. Prime Minister Modi said that those who are learned people can give a lot of academic inputs on where the word 'mother tongue' originated from, how it originated. Just as our mother makes our life, so does the mother tongue also fabricate our life. Just as we can't leave our mother, we can't leave our mother tongue. Prime Minister Modi said that even after 75 years of independence, some people are living in such a mental conflict due to which they have hesitation about their language, their dress, their food, whereas, nowhere else in the world, it is the case.
