Having your first “period” is an indication of girls attaining their puberty. The period traditions from around the world will really make you cringe! Every culture has its own way of dealing with menstruation and talking about (or not talking about) our monthly visitor. Here are period traditions from around the world.

Indonesia:- Women who are on their periods are kept in a hut away from their house. Their family members are not allowed to meet them. Indonesians think that during the time of bleeding women become unclean and that's why they have started this tradition.

Bangladesh & West Bengal:- During periods the women is told to collect the blood and then they mix it with cow milk, kapoor and coconut milk. This mixture is given to everyone to drink because they consider it healthy and memory booster.

Nepal:- Girls are not allowed to touch anything or any living being, if she does so it is considered as sin and they need to be cleaned with proper rituals.

India:- During periods, women are not allowed to enter the kitchen to cook food for 3 days and temple to worship for 7 days. Bali:- Women are restricted to bath in river after 3 days to clean themselves.
