Shimla: Former Himachal BJP president Satpal Singh Satti has lashed out at the Congress government in the state. "The Congress government is only working to promote liquor. An example of this has come up recently. The way liquor contracts were auctioned in the state, the number of contracts in the state increased. Now the government has allowed bars to sell liquor till 1 am."
According to the report, Satti further said, "The Congress had made an election promise of giving 5 lakh jobs to the youth before coming to power. One lakh jobs were promised per year. But now the Congress promise of jobs has gone round, and the government has started working to encourage the youth towards alcohol. Satti said that if liquor is sold after by 1 am, it will spoil the atmosphere of Himachal Pradesh. The government is trying to push the youth into drugs."
He said that women will feel insecure due to this decision of the government. Apart from this, with the increase in criminal activities in the state, battles on the streets will also be seen increasing late at night. Satti said that this decision of the Congress government is completely unfair and every policy of the Congress government is proving to be anti-people. He said that even during the BJP government, many delegations came and demanded from our government, but the BJP never promoted it. Satpal Singh Satti said that the government should withdraw this decision and the time of sale of liquor should be fixed at 10 o'clock as before.
