NEW DELHI: The first budget for the Modi government's second term was presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Friday. Just a day after this, the prices of petrol and diesel have seen a big increase. Petrol prices in Delhi rose by Rs 2.45 a litre on Saturday. Petrol prices in Delhi rose by Rs 72.96 a litre.
Petrol, as well as diesel prices, have seen a big rise on Saturday. In Delhi, diesel prices have gone up by Rs 2.36 per litre. The price of diesel in Delhi has gone up to Rs 66.69 per litre. It is worth mentioning here that the full-time budget presented by the Modi government on Friday has increased the Cess and Excise Duty on petrol and diesel.
Petrol and diesel have been charged rs 1 per litre by the government. The excise duty has also been increased by Rs 1 per litre. This has led to an increase in the prices of petrol and diesel. Experts say petrol diesel prices may go up further in the coming days.
