Both petrol-diesel prices cross Rs 100 mark in Rajasthan's Sri Ganganagar

Jaipur: Sriganganagar, a small town in the northern part of Rajasthan near the Indo-Pak border, has become the first city in the country to have retail prices of both petrol diesel crossed Rs 100 per litre. The city is already suffering from the highest price of petrol in the entire country at Rs 107.23 per litre.

Meanwhile, diesel prices now rose by 25 paise per litre to Rs 100.06 per litre on Saturday. However, this record may not last long as rajasthan also remains likely to touch the Rs 100 level soon elsewhere, especially in nearby cities along the border areas. Similarly, madhya pradesh, maharashtra, telangana some places in Andhra Pradesh, where due to high VAT rates, fuel prices are always much higher than in the rest of the country.

The premium fuel has already reached over Rs 100 in many cities over the past few months. Fuel prices had touched Rs 100 per litre in the last five to six weeks due to continuous rise in retail prices by oil marketing companies. On Saturday too, OMC hiked the price of petrol diesel by 22-32 paise per litre across the country, the second consecutive increase in so many days.
