New Delhi: The country is now showing relief after the continuous hike in petrol-diesel prices. Indian oil marketing companies (IOC, HPCL & BPCL) have not made any change in the price of oil even today. This is the fifth consecutive day when petrol-diesel prices have not increased. Earlier, the petrol price was hiked by 30-33 paise on December 7, while diesel was costlier by 25-31 paise.
The prices of petrol and diesel started increasing from the beginning of November. Petrol has become costlier by Rs 2.66 and diesel by Rs 3.50 per litre in about 38 days. Since then, there is no respite from any increase in prices. According to the Indian Oil website, petrol is priced at Rs 83.71 per litre in the national capital today. In Mumbai, the price of petrol is Rs 90.34 per litre. In Kolkata, you will have to pay Rs 85.19 for one litre of petrol. In Chennai, petrol will be priced at Rs 86.51 per litre.
Talking about diesel, it is selling at Rs 73.87 per litre in Delhi. Diesel is being sold at Rs 80.51 per litre in Mumbai. In Kolkata, you will have to pay Rs 77.44 for a litre of diesel. In Chennai, you will have to pay Rs 79.21 for one litre of diesel.
