New Delhi: The process of increasing the prices of petrol and diesel continued for the third consecutive day on Saturday. Petrol price has again increased by eight paise per liter in the four main metros of the country, Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai. At the same time, the price of diesel has increased by nine paise in Delhi and Kolkata, while in Mumbai and Chennai by 10 paise per liter.
Petrol and diesel prices have increased four times so far this week, making petrol costlier by 26 paise per liter in the National Capital Region of Delhi and diesel by 28 paise per liter. According to the website of Indian Oil, petrol prices in Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai have increased to Rs 71.97, Rs 74.70, Rs 77.65 and Rs 74.78 per liter respectively.
Diesel prices in the four metros have also increased to Rs 65.37, Rs 67.78, Rs 68.56 and Rs 69.09 per liter respectively. At the same time, the price of crude oil remained soft in the international market this week. Energy experts say that during the last 15 days, the price of crude oil has remained almost constant, after which there is no possibility of further increase in the price of petrol and diesel.
