New Delhi: The trend of increase in the price of petrol continued for the fifth consecutive day on Monday, while there was no change in the price of diesel for the sixth consecutive day. After about one and a half months in the country's capital Delhi, the price of petrol has crossed Rs 74 per liter. Petrol in Delhi has reached Rs 74.05 per liter. Earlier on 5 October 2019, petrol was Rs 74.04 per liter in Delhi.

In the global market, petrol prices have increased in the country due to rising crude oil prices. Although crude oil remained stable in the global market on Monday, the price of crude is at a high of almost two months. Oil marketing companies increased the prices of petrol by 16 paise per liter in Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Chennai for the fifth consecutive day, but did not make any change in the price of diesel for the sixth consecutive day.
Heavy drop in mutual fund investment amid stock market fluctuations
According to the website of Indian Oil, petrol prices in Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Chennai have increased to Rs 74.05, Rs 76.74, Rs 79.71 and Rs 76.97 per liter respectively. However, the prices of diesel in all the four metros are undone at Rs 65.79, Rs 68.20, Rs 69.01 and Rs 69.54 per liter respectively.
