The Government of India is planning to set up a project management unit to make the allocated coal blocks operational faster. In a notice inviting bids from eligible units, the Ministry said that the Ministry of Coal can take the services of a consultant for setting up Project Management Unit.
In the notice issued on the request letter for the bid, it is stated that there is a plan to hire a consulting company to set up the project management unit of the Ministry of Coal. The aim is to make the coal block operational faster.
In addition to this, it has been written in the notice that through the selected bidder professionals, the authority will be made available and coordinate in the various aspects related to the implementation of the project. The last date for submission of bids is 19 December.
Along with increasing production, emphasis is being laid on allocators to bring the allocated coal blocks under the ambit of production. Earlier, the ministry had said that it is working on policy intervention to prepare a single-window plan for speedy clearance of projects from various central and state agencies.
