New Delhi: Diesel prices have been slashed for the fifth consecutive day by the companies. Diesel prices dropped by 15 paise, to Rs 71.43 per litre in Delhi on Monday. There is no revision in the price of petrol.  On Monday, oil companies slashed diesel prices by 15 paise a litre. Petrol is selling at Rs 81.14 per litre and diesel at Rs 71.43 per litre in the national capital today.

Similarly, petrol is available at Rs 87.82 a litre and diesel at Rs 77.87 a litre in Mumbai. Petrol is being sold at Rs 84.21 and diesel at Rs 76.85 a litre in TamilNadu capital. In Kolkata, petrol is selling at Rs 82.67 and diesel at Rs 74.94 a litre. If we talk about Noida, petrol is available at Rs 81.64 and diesel at Rs 71.81 a litre. Diesel has been getting cheaper for the last five days. Diesel prices were cut by 25 paise a litre on Sunday and 19-21 paise on Saturday.

There has been a sudden drop in demand for crude oil in the international market. Some companies in OPEC countries have also started exempting crude oil. Due to cheaper crude oil companies will get a discount on prices. In India, 82 per cent of its crude ism is used. Saudi Arabia and Russia supply oil to India.
