New Delhi: Oil companies have increased the prices of petrol and diesel for the sixth consecutive day on Tuesday. Petrol and diesel prices were stable on January 1, but since then, oil prices have been increasing for six consecutive days. Iran's top commander Qasim Sulemani was killed in a missile attack by the US military at Baghdad International Airport in the past, after which the price of crude oil has increased.

In Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Chennai, the price of one liter of petrol has been increased by five paise. After this, petrol prices in these states have been increased to Rs 75.74, 78.33, 81.33 and Rs 78.69 per liter respectively. Talking about diesel, the price of one-liter diesel has increased by 11 paise in Delhi and Kolkata, whereas in Mumbai, the price of one-liter diesel has increased by 12 paise. At the same time, the price of diesel in Chennai has become expensive by 11 paise, after which the price of diesel has been increased to 68.79, 71.15, 72.14 and 72.69 per liter respectively.

The deepening tension between the US and Iran has led to a sharp rise in crude oil prices. On Monday, Brent prices rose two percent to near $ 70. This is the highest price of crude oil in three and a half months. WTI crude has reached the highest level since April 2019.
