Pfizer has said that one crore vaccines will be made available to India in July, 10 million in August and 20 million in September and 10 million in October. The company has said that it will only talk to the Government of India and pay the vaccines to Pfizer India on behalf of the Government of India. The government of India itself will have to distribute the procured vaccine domestically. The source said Pfizer has also stipulated a compensation contract with the Government of India for supply of vaccine to India and sent documents.
According to Pfizer, it has entered into compensation agreements with 116 countries, including the United States. 147 million doses of Pfizer vaccine have been administered worldwide so far. At present no significant side effects have been reported from anywhere. On the other hand, a one-dose vaccine of moderna may be available in India next year. For this, she is discussing with Cipla and other Indian pharmaceutical companies that Moderna has told Indian authorities that she does not have vaccine stocks outside the US in 2021. Cipla is believed to have shown interest in purchasing 50 million vaccine supplements from Moderna in 2022.
