The sixth phase of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections is scheduled to take place tomorrow, May 25, across multiple states and union territories. A total of 58 constituencies spread over eight regions will be participating in Phase 6 of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024.

The voting will be conducted in Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar, Jammu & Kashmir, and Odisha. In the 2019 elections, the BJP secured 303 seats, while the Congress managed 52, falling short of the required number to assume the role of Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha. These current elections, announced on March 10, are being conducted in seven phases.

What's Open and What's Closed on May 25 for Lok Sabha Phase 6 Polls:

Open:

Private offices: Despite being a public holiday, not all private offices will be closed. However, eligible voters are entitled to a public holiday and can take the day off to cast their vote.
Closed:

Government offices: Some state governments have declared public holidays on May 25, resulting in the closure of government offices in those areas.

Schools and colleges: Educational institutions will remain closed on polling day.

Banks: Banks in all states will be closed on May 25, which is the fourth Saturday of the month, in adherence to RBI regulations. Additionally, banks in Orissa and Tripura will remain closed for Nazrul Jayanti.

Liquor shops: Liquor shops will remain shut in the polling constituencies 48 hours before the voting day, making it a dry day.

The elections are a crucial event in the democratic process of India, with voters in these constituencies expected to exercise their right to choose their representatives for the Lok Sabha.
