New Delhi: The Delhi High Court has directed the leaders to bring on record a petition seeking registration of a case for claims of buying and distributing remdesivir injections and conducting a CBI inquiry into it. Advocate Virag Gupta referred to the petition before a bench of Judge Vipin Sanghi and Judge Rekha Palli. The petition questions how leaders are buying large quantities of medicines even after not getting necessary permissions under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, while the common people are not getting them.

"Not allowing people to access medicines for their political gains is a serious nature's crime and affects corona virus patients across the country", claimed Deepak Singh, head of the Heart Foundation and a national level shooter, in his petition filed through advocate Gaurav Pathak alleging that leaders are involved in hoarding and distributing important drugs like remdesivir on a large scale.

According to the claims made by the petition, "Political parties, most of whom are headquartered in Delhi, are exploiting their political strength and protecting the medical mafia". In addition to registering an FIR in the case and conducting CBI inquiry, the petition appealed for detention of those involved in black marketing of corona virus drugs under the National Security Act (NSA).
