Srinagar: The Gupkar Alliance, formed in Jammu and Kashmir, has suffered a setback. The people's conference chief Sajjad Lone announced on Tuesday that his party is separating from the ' Gupkar Alliance ' (PAGD) of seven parties. He alleged that some constituents of the alliance stood by pseudo-candidates in the District Development Council (DDC) elections.
Lone has announced its decision in a letter to the chief of the Coalition and national president of the National Conference Farooq Abdullah. "It is a fact that the Coalition has clearly won the highest number of seats in this election," Lone wrote. "We cannot hide the figures and in addition to the seats won by the Coalition, another important figure is the number of reference votes of five August (deactivating most of the provisions of section 370), which is against the coalition. ''
He later shared the letter in the media also. Lone said that he believes that most of the voting against the Coalition is a vote against the official candidate by the pseudonyms of the coalition constituents. In a letter, Lone said, "The result of selective voting in favour and opposition of the Coalition was a very bad percentage. This is not the percentage of votes which the voice of Jammu and Kashmir deserved after 5th August. ''
