The state government has been inthe for the backward Uttarantha development. The government has already declared Visakhapatnam the capital of the administration and moved the Waters of the Godavari in the sea It has decided to pave the way for the overall development of the area by meeting the needs of cultivation, drinking and industrial. The Uttarantra Sujala Sravanthi scheme has taken up the work of moving 63.20 TMc ft of water in 90 days at the rate of eight thousand cusecs per day from the Polavaram Left Canal 162.409 km. The government has started work with Rs 2,022 crore in the first phase and in the second phase, the tender notification has been prepared for the workunder two packages of Rs 6,265 crore. Subsequently, it decided to complete the Bhudevi, Veeranarayanapuram, Tadipudi and Gadigeda Reservoirs. The Uttarandhra Sujala Sravanthi project, which costs rs 15,448 crore, has been specially set up by the Uttarandhra Irrigation Projects Development Corporation. The project was planned to be completed fast erected by low interest loans from international and national financial institutions.

On an average, three thousand TNMS Godavari waters are in the sea from Dhavaleshwaram barrage. On January 2, 2009, the late Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy issued a tender notification to the 'Uttarandhra Sujala Sravanthi' scheme with the aim of moving 63.20 TNFrom the Polavaram Left Canal to Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam districts. But the scheme was obscured by the sudden death of the Mahaneta.

Polavaram left canal from 162.409 km to 500 meters of link canal to 1,300 cusecs water At Jamadulagudem and Pedapudi, the pedapudi reservoir is moved to the 3.16 MTC capacity. The left canal is moved from 162.409 km to the 23 km link canal to 6,700 cusecs. Papayapalem at the 106 km long excavation lift canal is supplied to Gadigedda Reservoir.

The lift canal is lifted at 102 km and moved to Srikakulam district through the Kotagandredu Branch Canal.  The lift canal is lifted by the Bhudevi lift at 14 km and the water is lifted at 6.2 TNMSc capacity, the Veeranarayanapuram Reservoir, which is constructed at 48.50 km, is moved through the Tadipudi lift at 73 km and filled with 3.80 TMc capacity.

In the first phase, the chief minister ys jagan directed the water resources department to complete the work of the link canal, jamadulagudem, pedapudi reservoir and pedapudi reservoir to be given to the contractors to provide water to 1.30 lakh acres. In the second phase, the 23 km link canal, 106 km lift canal and 60 km kotagandredu branch canal workwill be required to carry out rs 6,265 crore. This includes rs 2,344 crore sought for land acquisition and relief package works. Officials have prepared the field to issue a tender notification by dividing the link canal, lift canal and branch canal works into two packages with a cost of Rs 3,921 crore.
In the second phase, tender notification will be issued for rs 2,539 crore for the first package and Rs 1,382 crore for the second package. The government has decided to develop the Gadigadda Reservoir along with the reservoirs of Bhudevi, Veeranarayanapuram and Tadipudi.
