Playing the character of Mahadev has made me a better human being: Siddharth Arora

Actors working in daily soaps have to sweat it out 23 X 7, thanks to the long working hours. So as and when they get some time off work, they do want to make the most of it. Recently Siddharth Arora took a break to travel to Jaipur and meet his relatives. “We (actors) have to really work hard to earn our vacations. So even travelling to meet family takes a certain degree of planning. I came to Jaipur with my mom for a family function. My sister lives here and I keep coming to meet her in the city. We were in Jaipur to celebrate my niece's birthday. Fortunately I could also play tourist and explore Jaipur and Udaipur."

Siddharth explored Jaipur and visited its historical monuments. “I have always loved to come here, and every time I feel that I haven't got enough of the city. What mesmerizes me the most about this city is that it is the perfect blend of modern and traditional. The walled city dotted with old houses and shops are epitomize everything traditional about the city, while the sparkling new city with its flyovers and towering high-rises are a symbol of the modern city. ” The actor visited Jantar Mantar, Hawamahal, City Palace and Amber Fort. He even went shopping at the local markets and picked up some gifts for friends He also adds, “A trip to Jaipur is incomplete if you don’t shop here. I also bought some stuff for my mom and also picked up a bandhej suit for my co-actor Mouli (Ganguly) didi.”

Siddharth's done a bunch of shows including family dramas and mythological shows. Currently he is playing the role of Mahadev in the show Baal Shiv. Ask him about what genre he enjoys doing the most and he shares, “I have done my share of social dramas and mythological shows. And I enjoy doing both. The only difference is fictional characters are created, while mythological characters already have some relevance in our lives. I am playing the role of a divine being, so I have to I don't make any mistakes. To make myself look credible, I read a lot of scriptures and books on Lord Shiva. Incidentally, I belong to Varanasi, where Shiva is worshipped. So my upbringing and my city had already shaped my thoughts before I took up this great role." Siddharth who is a firm devotee of Shiva in real life says, “I think this show has made me a better and more responsible person in real life.”
