New Delhi: A petition has been filed in Delhi High Court demanding the opening of Shaheen Bagh-Kalindi Kunj road. This road has been closed for almost a month. Residents of Jamia and Shaheen Bagh have been protesting against the CAA and NRC on this road since 15 December. Due to this, people living here are having a lot of problems coming and going.

People coming to Delhi and Noida are facing a lot of problems due to the protests. The petition said that Kalindi Kunj-Shaheen Bagh road should be opened so that traffic can be restored. Traffic from Mathura Road to Kalindi Kunj and Okhla underpass is completely closed. People have been facing a lot of trouble on this route since December 15 because of the protests against CAA. Earlier, a petition was also filed in the High Court to open the way, which the court refused to consider.

The petition said that due to the protests against the CAA and NRC in the Shaheen Bagh area, people face long traffic jams daily on the DND flyover. Actually, there is a sit-in demonstration against the CAA in the Shaheen Bagh area of South Delhi. Due to which the route going from Kalindi Kunj to Sarita Vihar is closed. People have to face long traffic jams in and out of DND.
