'No case should be filed against lockdown violaters', petition filed in Supreme Court

New Delhi: Former Delhi Police DGP Vikram Singh on Thursday filed a petition in the Supreme Court of the country seeking not to sue those who violated the lockdown implemented across the country to prevent the spread of Corona infection. He has demanded in his petition that the police should be stopped from registering FIRs in Section 188 of IPC and other minor offences.

Actually, a 40-day lockdown has been implemented throughout the country to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. To make the lockdown successful, the government is taking a tough stand with the help of the police and is filing cases against the violators. This case is being registered for violating government orders under Section 188 of the IPC.

On this matter, on Thursday, the former Delhi Police DGP filed a petition saying that the police is busy in the lockdown day and night. In such a case, if a case is filed for violating the lockdown, then it will increase the workload on the police and the courts themselves.
