New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is making headlines these days for sharing a picture of the victim's parents meeting the victim's parents in the alleged rape and murder case in Delhi. Now a petition has been filed in the Delhi High Court seeking action against him in the same case. In fact, the victim was 9 years old. The petitioner, Makarand Suresh Madlekar, has alleged that "Rahul Gandhi has violated the Juvenile Justice Act and the POCSO Act (Prevention of Child Sexual Offences Act). Following the report of a famous website, the petitioner has sought directions from the Delhi High Court to Twitter and Delhi Police to take action against Rahul Gandhi.

The petition said, "Both the laws provide that the photograph of the family of any minor victim cannot be shared. The high court is now able to hear the petition on August 11. Earlier, the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) had also sent a letter to Twitter and Delhi Police asking them to take action against Rahul Gandhi in the case.'' At that time, the Commission said that "posting a picture of the family of any minor victim on Twitter is a violation of Section 74 of the Juvenile Justice Act, 2015 and Section 23 of the POCSO Act.''

Let me tell you that last Friday, Twitter deleted Rahul Gandhi's post in which he shared a picture of the victim meeting her parents. Later last Saturday evening, the Congress claimed that Rahul Gandhi's Twitter account had been temporarily suspended, but the microblogging platform rejected the claim and said that "the account is still in service. The Congress also said that the account of the former party president has been temporarily locked."

Last Saturday, the Congress had tweeted from its Twitter handle and wrote, "Rahul Gandhi's account has been temporarily suspended and the necessary process is underway for its restoration. He will stay connected with you through other social media platforms till the account is restored and keep raising his voice for the people and fighting their battles. Jai Hind.
